Despite Apple’s incessant whining, the Australian Federal Court has decided to un-ban the Galaxy Tab 10.1 from sale down under. Apple has until Friday to appeal the ruling, so the fight isn’t over quite yet, but it looks like Apple will just have to take solace knowing that they command a hilariously huge fraction of the tablet market. Apple will continue their legal pursuits against Samsung in Germany, where the company released a modified Galaxy Tab that skirts around Apple’s designs.
It’s no coincidence that Samsung’s latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging. This kind of blatant copying is wrong and, as we’ve said many times before, we need to protect Apple’s intellectual property when companies steal our ideas.
