After one beta version, Apple has released Safari 5.1.2 to the public. The update adds inline PDF viewing, memory usage fixes, stability improvements, and addresses issues with webpages flashing. Safari 5.1.2 is approximately 40.2 MB and is available on Apple’s Safari download page here or in the Software Update utility on your Mac or PC.
This update contains various improvements, including fixes that:
- Improve stability
- Address issues that could cause hangs and excessive memory usage
- Address issues that could cause webpages to flash white
- Allow PDFs to be displayed within web content
Apple seeded a beta build of Safari 5.1.2 to developers early this month and it seems that, with today’s release, they have concluded their testing on the browser update. Hopefully it has addressed all of the issues mentioned in the changelog. Let us know how it’s working for you in the comments.
