It seems that HP’s TouchPad fire sale did amount is one great thing after all — the company sold more tablets than any non-Apple manufacturer, including Samsung. According to a new study by NPD Group, HP sold 204,000 tablets from the TouchPad’s inception to its end in October. A total of 1.2 million non-Apple tablets sold from January to October this year — 17% of which were HP’s, with Samsung lagging behind by one percent. If the study is accurate, then Samsung’s amazing Galaxy Tab 10.1 couldn’t outsell HP’s dying webOS tablet. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is estimated to have sold only 192,000 units this year.
Among the other top tablets were ASUS’ Eee Pad Transformer, which accumulated 10% of sales, and Acer’s Iconia Tab, which was equal with Motorola’s Xoom for 9% of the unit share.
