If you’re tired of waiting for iTunes to launch every time you want to rock out, there are a few lightweight alternatives on the market like Ecoute and Spotify, but a new challenger has appeared: Enqueue. The music player offers FLAC support and a fresh UI that puts the important information in front of you without being overwhelming. The primary focus of the player is the ability to queue music without having to make an entire playlist. Just drag the songs you want into the sidebar, and they’ll be added to the queue. Drag them back out to remove them from the list.
It’s possible to import your iTunes library, but at the moment, changes made in Enqueue will not be reflected in iTunes. The app is still in beta, so stay tuned (ha!) for updates and new features. Multimedia keys are supported, but you’ll need to free them up from iTunes with MMFix.
