Barnes & Noble won’t be surprising anyone when it unveils a new tablet at its Nook event next week, as Engadget has them beat to the punch. Thanks to a slew of leaked documents, we now know that a Nook Tablet is on its way for $249 on November 16th. While it may seem nearly identical to its Nook Color sibling on the outside, this tablet is quite different on the inside with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of built-in expandable memory.
The Nook Tablet will stir up some competition with the iPad—as will Motorola’s Xoom 2—but its main competitor is expected to be Amazon’s newly released, low-priced Kindle Fire ($199). Barnes & Noble touts its two million books collection, plethora of apps, and HD content from Netflix and Hulu Plus as a big reason why consumers will navigate towards this new tablet.
