Apple’s Fifth Avenue retail store in New York City is virtually always open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year; however, it closed its doors tonight at 10:00 PM Eastern and will re-open tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM. During this irregular closure of the iconic store, Apple employees will be preparing for tomorrow’s unveiling of the store’s brand new exterior design.
When the store celebrates its grand re-opening tomorrow, it will feature just 15 panes of seamless glass, a sharp decrease from the previous 90 panes of glass used prior to the redesign. Apple has been keeping these larger panes of glass under wraps, but they’ll finally be taken down in less than twelve hours. Tomorrow’s weather forecast for New York City isn’t calling for any rain, so the unveiling of the new and improved glass cube should be pleasing for sightseers.
