Apple to Bring Self-Checkout to Retail Stores

Over the past few weeks, Apple has made some minor enhancements to their chain of retail stores, making the purchasing process much quicker. Customers can pickup online orders at nearby locations (select cities only), and now, Apple is rumored to be rolling out an update to their Apple Store iOS application to allow customers to check themselves out without the need for employee assistance. It’s unknown how Apple will differentiate between paying customers and shoplifters, but we’re sure that some method of purchase confirmation will be used—and for larger items like Macs, a blue-shirt will be necessary to retrieve the item from the stock room.
