The Evolution of the iPhone’s Camera

The developers behind Camera+ have created an excellent comparison of photos taken by the entire iPhone family. The first major jump in quality is from the iPhone 3G and the 3GS (likely due to the addition of focus), but noticable improvements are made with each new model. With the release of the iPhone 4S, mobile photos are approaching professional quality. Of couse, high-end cameras are able to produce RAW photos which can be tweaked to the extreme, but for just snapping photos while on vacation, the iPhone should suffice for 99 percent of users.
