Sprint has officially announced that today was their best day of sales ever. In an official statement that they published just a few hours ago, the carrier said that, thanks to the iPhone, today was their biggest day of web, retail, and telesales in their history. As you also might recall, Sprint was very “very pleased” with the pre-orders that they received last week. More coverage after the break.
Many Sprint customers have eagerly awaited this day, when the device that “just works” has finally arrived on their carrier. As 8 AM this morning, the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 8 GB model were both available for purchase on Sprint. This is great for those who didn’t want to spend $199 on a new phone and instead wished to buy a cheaper, old version of the phone with half the space. However, at this point it seems that the iPhone 4S is more successful and has sold more than the original iPhone 4.
For those who don’t know, Sprint’s plan starts at just $79.99 for unlimited data and messaging – something that AT&T and Verizon can’t currently compete with since they both discontinued their unlimited data plans a while back. After today, the future for Sprint looks good and it will be interesting to see how they fare against the big competition.
It looks like the iPhone 4S was really “disappointing,” doesn’t it?
