You’re looking at placeholder images for the iPhone 4S on the left hand side of this post. If you’re thinking that they look incredibly similar to the iPhone 4, that is because they’re virtually identical in design. A tipster for 9to5Mac, Scott, found these images buried within Apple’s website.
It can be assumed that the iPhone 4S will launch with iOS 5 pre-installed if you notice the Newsstand icon—an iOS 5 app—on the home screen. There’s also a tiny gap in the aluminum band that runs around the edge of the iPhone, which could indicate a dual-mode handset that works on both GSM and CDMA networks. We’ll soon find out.
