It looks like Apple made a small mistake with their latest iTunes beta released yesterday. As 9to5Mac reports, inside iTunes 10.5 beta 9 there is a string that mentions the iPhone 4S by name.
As you can see, it also mentions that the icon will be the previous iPhone 4′s icon in both CDMA and GSM. This could be a confirmation that the iPhone 4S will not be a design change at all and simply a speed boost with previously-rumored dual-mode support. However, nothing is official until Tuesday.
Shortly after 9to5Mac’s post, Apple pulled beta 9 from the Developer Portal, most likely because it contained information that was not to be revealed until the 4th.
As far as we know, there is no mention of an iPhone 5 in the code, but this doesn’t mean it won’t be released. Remember, this was a mistake on Apple’s part which means there could be something that they left out.
