You sue me, I’ll sue you. That’s the game that both Apple and Samsung have been playing for several months, with a new report from Reuters emerging about Samsung’s plans to pursue legal action in European courts against Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5. The South Korean electronics conglomerate wants to see Apple’s fifth-generation iPhone barred from sale across what is assumed to be the entire European Union.
Of course, Apple has yet to release such a phone, so the litigation won’t be taking place until after the iPhone 5 launches in those European countries. Samsung has declined to comment on the matter. I think about now would be a good time for the Apple and Samsung executives to sit down, chat, and resolve this whole issue outside of the courts. We’ll keep you posted on how these latest lawsuits play out.
