At today’s jailbreaking-centric My Great Fest event in London, p0sixninja announced that five new iOS 5 userland vulnerabilities have been found for the iPad 2 by the Chronic Dev Team. He expects that the exploits can be used in the next-generation iPhone 5 as well (assuming they don’t get leaked to the public) so we may not have to wait long for a untethered jailbreak. This is major news for the community, especially since comex and geohot are out of the iOS hacking business. Both Dev-Teams have been pretty quiet lately, but it’s awesome to know that they are still hard at work.
For more information direct from the devs themselves, check out the live stream of My Great Fest, which is happening now.
