Dev-Teams Quietly Working on Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 5

According to recent tweets posted on Twitter by members of both the iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team, it appears that both iPhone hacking teams are quietly working on an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5. There have been seven iOS 5 betas released so far, but only tethered jailbreaks have been released for each version to prevent Apple from patching any unreleased exploit that either team might be trying to hide until the official release of iOS 5.

MuscleNerd, of the iPhone Dev Team, has said that hackers are still looking for core vulnerabilities in iOS, but stated that “keeping quiet is better for many reasons.” Furthermore, pod2g of the Chronic Dev Team has tweeted that his whole team is “still alive and actively working on iOS 5!” As always, be patient and appreciative of the time and dedication that these individuals put forth towards releasing free jailbreak exploits for the iOS community.
