Apple May Issue Minor Update to MacBook This Month

Sources for AppleInsider claim that Apple is planning to refresh their lineup of MacBook Pros with Intel’s improved Sandy Bridge CPUs to tide new buyers over until Ivy Bridge is released. The holidays are right around the corner, and the MacBook Pro has not been updated since early this year. The speed bump would be relatively minor—up to a 20% clock speed increase on the i7 models and a bit less on the 13″ i5 versions. As usual, Apple will likely keep prices the same while retiring the old machines, so if you’re in the market for a new notebook and can’t wait until 2012, stay tuned.
