The U.S.’s third largest carrier in Sprint will, according to Bloomberg, offer an unlimited data plan option coinciding with the debut of the iPhone 5 on its network. When the iPhone launches on Sprint in October, something that has been widely speculated, the carrier could attract several customers because it will offer uncapped data packages unlike its two main competitors, AT&T and Verizon.
The latter two carriers did indeed offer unlimited data plans for the iPhone at one point in time, but both networks have since rolled out tiered, capped data plans for all new customers. Existing AT&T and Verizon customers who originally opted into unlimited data are the only ones who have the ability to retain their plan for the iPhone. Sprint’s unlimited voice and data plan is $99.99 per month.
