Android Ice Cream Sandwich to Be Released in “October or November”

According to Google’s own Eric Schmitt, Android 4.0, codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich, will be released in “October or November” of this year. We knew that it would be released sometime in 2011, but now we have a more specific time frame. The release will signal a major change in the platform, since development of Gingerbread and the tablet-optimized Honeycomb will finally be merged into a single unified OS. Like iOS 5 and the iPhone 5, we expect the Nexus Prime to be released alongside ICS. This Fall should be very interesting.
