Apple Begins Shipping 27″ Thunderbolt Displays to Stores

According to MacRumors, Apple is beginning to ship the new 27″ Thunderbolt display to Apple retail stores and authorized resellers. The display has two Thunderbolt ports in addition to a built-in FaceTime HD camera, 2.1 speaker system, three USB ports, MagSafe charger, one Firewire 800 port, and one Gigabit Ethernet port. Individual pre-orders for the display have been accepted since July and now have an estimated shipping date of September 15. The display, which retails for $999, can only be used with a Mac that has a high-speed Thunderbolt I/O port.
