A spokesperson for Deutsche Telekom has confirmed that the German carrier will, as of today, begin accepting preorders for the iPhone 4′s successor model. While the acceptance of preorders is indicative of a new iPhone on the horizon, the carrier does not divulge any details about the phone such as its name, hardware specifications, or availability date. These early measures are being taken by the carrier to prevent supply bottleneck at the launch of the iPhone 5.
Deutsche Telekom customers are entitled to one coupon that serves as a placeholder for purchasing the next-generation iPhone. The coupons, or “premiere tickets,” allow for customers to purchase the new iPhone upon its release on a first come, first serve basis. Customers must visit a brick-and-mortar Deutsche Telekom store or call customer support to obtain a coupon, as the offer is not available on the carrier’s online store.
