Netherlands Bans Samsung Smartphones

As a result of Apple’s ongoing patent lawsuit against Samsung, the Dutch courts have issued a preliminary injunction banning the sale of the Galaxy S, Galaxy S II, and Ace smartphones. The patent in question relates to Android’s, so all it will take from Samsung is a (relatively) quick software fix to appease the courts. Despite the similar software, the Galaxy Tab is not affected by the injunction. While this may seem to be a victory for Apple, the execs over at Samsung are probably quite relieved that the ruling is not more severe—thought there will still be a full trial, so the fight is far from over.
