Apple Introduces Recycling Program

Apple is now working with WeRecycle and PowerON to accept clunker Macs and iDevices in exchange for an Apple Gift Card. Of course, since Apple is, in part, doing you a favor, don’t expect to go on a all-white shopping spree, but it’s a fine deal if you have a few obsolete products lying around and are hesitant to sell them on a certain unnamed eAuction site.

Old iPods can also be returned in exchange for 10% off a newer model.

Turn that iPhone, iPad, or computer — Mac or PC — you’re not using anymore into something brand new. Send it to us and we’ll determine if it qualifies for reuse. If it does, that means your device has monetary value that we’ll apply to an Apple Gift Card, which you can use for purchases at any Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store. If your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or PC doesn’t qualify for reuse, we’ll recycle it responsibly at no cost to you.
