Apple continues to dramatically increase their number of brick-and-mortar stores, and they’ll be adding an additional three new stores to the list this weekend. Grand opening celebrations are expected to take place at three new Apple stores in Florence, Italy; Cheltenham, Australia; and Waterloo, Canada on Saturday. Waterloo, Ontario, Canada is also home to the headquarters of Research In Motion, the makers of the BlackBerry.
Apple now operates over 330 retail stores worldwide and brought in over $3.5 billion in revenue from these stores in the past fiscal quarter. The company’s first retail store opened its doors in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia in May 2001, and recently celebrated its tenth anniversary.
UPDATE: It has been confirmed that two other Apple Stores will also celebrate their grand openings on Saturday. Anchorage, Alaska will be home to the state’s first Apple Store, while a new store will also open its doors in Murray, Utah.
