Apple Lifts 3G VoIP Restrictions

Amidst all the iPad news, Apple quietly lifted the 3G VoIP restrictions in the terms and conditions of the new edition of the iPhone OS SDK. iPhone and iPod touch users can now utilize VoIP services for use over 3G networks. The first application accepted into the App Store with VoIP over 3G, iCall, is available now.

This news conveniently correlates with the release of the iPad. Perhaps Apple is planning their own VoIP services on the iPhone?
