Verizon Blocking Hotspot Tethering on Jailbroken Devices

Following in the muddy footsteps of AT&T, Verizon has now begun to block tethering on jailbroken iPhones and rooted Android devices running apps, like MyWi, which bypass the need for a dedicated tethering data plan.

It’s unknown if Verizon will automatically upgrade users to a tethering plan if they do not comply, which AT&T started doing earlier this week. Verizon offers tethering plans starting at $20 per month for 2GB on top of a minimum $29.99 data plan.
