Microsoft to Update Office with Lion Compatibility

Microsoft has announced that they will be upgrading Office 2011 with features found on OS X Lion, such as fullscreen mode, autosave, versioning, and more. The update will likely be released in “months”, so don’t expect to upgrade anytime soon, but it’s great to hear that Redmond is working to make the productivity suite more integrated with Apple’s latest OS. Microsoft also notes that Office 2004 “will not (ever) work on Lion“, so if you depend on Word or Powerpoint on your Lion machine, it’s time to purchase Office 2011, or download one of the many alternatives.
