ChevronWP7 Labs, a Microsoft-Certified Unlock for $9

Microsoft showed interest in officially supporting homebrew development in Windows Phone 7 last year, and has now unleashed an approved ‘jailbreak’ for WP7 devices. Users who want to free their phone from Microsoft’s surprisingly loose clutches will have to shell out 9 bucks for ChevronWP7—which is not a bad deal, all things considered. Apple is unlikely to open their doors to hackers anytime soon, but with Android (attempting) to become more open and Microsoft fully supporting homebrew, the Walled Garden is beginning to look awfully small.

In collaboration with Microsoft, we (the ChevronWP7 team) will be delivering on our goal to make Windows Phone development more accessible by providing an approved device unlocking solution for a small fee.
