TechCrunch reported this morning that Skype released a new version (5.2) of their Mac app with group screen sharing and video calling. These features, already available in the beta version, will allow the user to share their screen and initiate video calls with a group of people, much like WebEx. As you would assume, this is a paid feature which ranges between $4.49 and $8.99 per month with day passes at $4.99 for occasional use.
Skype 5.2 is available here right now and Skype Premium – which provides group video calling, group screen sharing, 25% off a top HD webcam, and live chat customer support – is here. Also, don’t forget about that “something awesome” coming from Facebook tomorrow, it may very well have something to do with Skype – or the rumored iPad app.
