Stacked tweets would rival skyscrapers in height

Lots of people in this world use Twitter as an alternative or addition to Facebook. Some use Twitter for news, others for a place to share their thoughts with the world, and still more use it to talk with fellow developers and geeks.

Twitter has reached the tremendous amount of 200,000,000 tweets per day. The top trending topics for the first half of this year range from Tom and Jerry to Cairo, Egypt; this is one way that you can tell how diverse the community really is.

Twitter explains that this amount of tweets add up to one billion every five days, and the numbers are equal to 8,163 copies of Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace. Stacking this many copies up would reach a height of 1,470 feet and it would take 31 years to read it all.
