Harry Potter e-books are finally coming, but not to the iBookstore

J.K. Rowling, author of the popular Harry Potter novels, is back in the news after announcing that e-book copies of her bestselling series are finally arriving this October.  Titled Pottermore and powered by Sony, Rowling’s new website will deliver ePub versions of all the Harry Potter books DRM-free. As opposed to being distributed through the iBookstore or Amazon’s Kindle store, the ePub versions will be directly downloadable from the site and importable into many readers and iTunes libraries. Harry Potter fans can sign up to receive an email notification when Pottermore opens at http://www.pottermore.com/.
