Apple Files for “iCloud” Trademark in Europe

Surprise, surprise! Apple has filed for a trademark of the name “iCloud” in Europe, ahead of WWDC. As per yesterday’s press release, we know that Apple will in fact be unveiling the service and its features on June 6th, which is the first day of WWDC.

This is just one of the many steps to making a service like this stand up to the scrutiny of the law, as well as securing it for the future. The service is rumored to include a music locker, similar to what Amazon and Google have created, but it might also be a total revamp to the aging MobileMe.
