Amazon has offered a $114 ad-supported WiFi Kindle for some time now, and it looks like the product has been successful enough to warrant a 3G version with the same “Special Offers” discount. Geeks looking for an eReader that doesn’t cost $499 (or carry the Apple logo) should definitely give the Kindle a once-over. The subsidized Kindle costs $25 less than its full-priced counterpart, and many of the offers are actually great. For example, 50% off a Roku player, or a $20 Amazon giftcard for just $10. The ads are only seen when the device is off (ah, the magic of eInk), so you won’t get any annoying popups while enjoying the umpteenth Twilight novel.
