Verizon has announced that they will be adding a slew of new 4G locations to their coverage map, including cities in California, Idaho, Utah, South Carolina, and more. Future Apple customers who plan on purchasing the next-gen iPhone (which many very well be 4G-capable) may want to consider Verizon as their carrier of choice over AT&T—who has been rather slow on the LTE-uptake.
Cities include the following:
Hartford, Connecticut; Harrisburg, State College, and Erie, Pennsylvania; Dayton and Springfield, Ohio; Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina; Sacramento and Fresno, California; Spokane, Washington; Boise, Idaho; Salt Lake City, Utah; Flint, Grand Rapids, and Lansing, Michigan; Indianapolis and Forth Wayne, Indiana; and Madison, Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha and Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
There are conflicting reports on whether the iPhone 5 will have 4G, but Apple should strongly consider it due to the massive number of Android superphones being released. Battery life and alienating non-covered customers are probably Job’s main concerns, but 3G feels a bit antiquated when compared to its sucessor.
