Apple WWDC Event to Start June 6th

The date for Apple’s five-day World Wide Developer Conference has been set for June 6th. Last year, Jobs unveiled the iPhone 4, but according to a source for Jim Dalrymple (which Daring Fireball says is “gold”), there will be no new hardware announcements at the event. Apple will be focusing on the “future of iOS and Mac OS X”, but if the tagline is accurate, there will be no official releases. OS X 10.7 “Lion” is set to launch this Summer, but there hasn’t been any word on the next major iteration of iOS. We will likely get a look at iOS 5 at WWDC, and it’s possible that Apple will release it alongside the iPhone 5 for a tidy launch.
