Jay Freeman (saurik), creator and proprietor of Cydia, has released version 1.1 of the popular package manager for jailbreakers. While it is a .x upgrade, it does bring about some much welcomed features and additions, including a big boost in speed and stability.
Saurik hasn’t yet updated a canonical changelog, but he did tweet the largest changes:
Cydia 1.1: faster, slimmer, and more stable; including an improved search algorithm and “resume where you left off”. Available in Cydia now!
The update includes an improved search algorithm (for sifting through apps, themes, and other packages), consumes less memory, and brings about some very nice speed improvements. The UI has also received an update, apparently making things seem to flow much more smoothly than before.
Applying the update is simple: check for updates for Cydia apps, and it should prompt you to do an update for everything.
After that, be sure to tell us about anything you might find in Cydia 1.1 in the comments!
