Plans for Grand Central Terminal Apple Store Fall Through

Last month, there were rumors that Apple was planning on building their largest store yet in Grand Central Terminal—one of New York City’s busiest hotspots. The store would relieve stress on Apple’s iconic 5th Avenue location, which is becoming quite crowded on a day-to-day basis.

Grand Central Terminal houses a number of retail stores, but there doesn’t seem to be a single spot big enough to house Apple’s ambitions. Failure to acquire and combine multiple spaces from existing retailers could be the reason Apple backed out of their plans.
