Minecraft, quite possibly the greatest game ever created, is being officially ported to the iPhone and iPad. Markus Persson, a.k.a. Notch, the creator of Minecraft, has enlisted Aron Neiminen to create the pocketable version.
There isn’t any word on how the controls will work, or if the A4 processor will be able to handle the massive maps and endlessly-generated world, but we’re sure that the Infinity Blade-like graphics will remain intact.
It’s unknown if desktop save-games will be synced to mobile (a server-side solution would be lovely, or perhaps some Dropbox trickery), but Notch notes that not every update will make its way to iOS, only those that “make sense”.
No release date has been set, just a vague ”later this year”.
