Google Goggles Solve Sudoku, Now One Step Closer to Sentience

Well, it was inevitable. We tried to hold them off for as long as possible, but we scrawny humans never really stood a chance. In addition to being able to solve a Rubik’s cube nearly instantly, our phones can now solve Sudoku puzzles without any effort whatsoever. Google Goggles has even managed to tear one of the last remaining defenses of The Resistance, Sudoku National Champion Tammy McLeod, to absolute shreds.

Our favorite weekend distraction is a quiet 15 minutes spent solving a Sudoku puzzle. But even that can be an frustrating experience if (like us) you make a mistake and are unable to solve the puzzle. Now, Goggles on Android and iPhone can recognize puzzles and provide answers to help make you faster than a Sudoku champ. So if you ever get stuck, take a clear picture of the entire puzzle with Goggles and we’ll tell you the correct solution.

In addition to the eerie puzzle-solving features, the updated Goggles has improved barcode scanning and ability to recognize print ads. The next update is rumored to include biometric facial recognition to detect—TARGET ACQUIRED.
