CES 2011: Day Three Glee

Trexta Sketch Up

Among the sea of cases at CES I found the Sketch Up by Trexta. The rigid case is made of recycled paper and plastic and comes with a three pack of black, green and red waterproof markers so you can draw whatever you like on the case, like a doodle, message, song lyrics or whatever you can imagine. A two pack is $19.99 and can be bought at Amazon.

Tivizen DTV Dongle

If you’re fortunate enough to live in an area where mobile digital TV is available (check here: http://www.mdtvsignalmap.com/), you might be interested in the Tivizen mobile DTV dongle.

The Mobile DTV platform enables local TV stations to deliver live, digital content to ATSC-capable mobile and video devices such as mobile phones, portable media players, laptop computers, personal navigation devices and automobile-based “infotainment systems.” The service is “in-band”, meaning local broadcasters are providing mobile TV services as part of their terrestrial transmission within the same, existing 6 MHz channel they use for their current ATSC DTV programming.

So no cable subscription, no Slingbox, just pulling the signal out of the air.

The dongle is $99 and is to be released later this year.
