Dr. Dre to Promote “Detox” Through Mafia Wars

Following in the footsteps of Bon Jovi, Kiss and numerous other artists and games, Dr. Dre has partnered with Zynga to promote his new CD Detox (scheduled for release in in early 2011) in their popular game Mafia Wars.

Dr. Dre’s music video for his single “Kush” will be part of the game, as well as a personal message from Dre.  Additionally, players will be able to play “Hustlin’ with Dre,” with the objective of collecting items such as headphones, weapons and cars.  Finally, players will also have the opportunity to score a real pair of Beats by Dre headphones or an autographed copy of the Detox CD through an in-game giveaway. 

The partnership represents a fantastic promotional opportunity as Zynga claims 19 million users a month play Mafia Wars on Facebook and the iPhone.
